Identifying and selecting the world's best managers
A portfolio stands and falls on the quality of the allocated managers. Drawing on expertise from over 16 years’ experience as a CTA FoF manager, and operation of its own in-house quantitative trading system in its early years, Varengold can create unique added value – “know-how” in the trading systems it assesses. This in-depth knowledge enables Varengold to see “beyond the exterior” when selecting managers. Each asset manager must pass a rigorous selection and analysis process, which ensures an ongoing and qualitatively unique shortlist and long-list.

Each year, the research and portfolio management team led by Mr Qureshi and Mr Diehl visits well over 100 managers at their workplaces. This allows Varengold to identify potential new talent at an early stage and secure the experts it needs when it needs them.
